Nearly 12,000 Jehovah’s Witnesses are flocking to Fort Smith for their annual regional convention.

“The thrust of the whole program is to help people develop an intimate relationship with god,” spokesman Herbert Wight told 5NEWS.

Thousands of Jehovah’s Witnesses will strengthen their faith during a month-long series of conventions in Cassidy starting this weekend.

The series of five, three-day conventions begins Friday (June 4) and ends July 4.

About 6,500 Jehovah’s Witnesses from around Vancouver Island and parts of the Sunshine Coast are expected to attend.

CLIFTON — More than 50,000 Jehovah’s Witnesses from the metropolitan area, including those from Clifton and Passaic will come to the Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Jersey City over 16 consecutive weekends for a 3-day event focusing on finding reliable direction and guidance from God’s word the Bible.

According to Clifton resident, Jay Chosy, news service overseer for the first convention, Jehovah’s Witnesses will host their annual conclave at the Assembly Hall at 2932 Kennedy Boulevard in Journal Square with the first convention beginning Friday, May 21. NEW YORK—Jehovah’s Witnesses announce the start of their 2010 “Remain Close to Jehovah!” three-day conventions and warmly invite all to attend. The first of these events will begin this week on Friday, May 21, in five locations in the United States: West Palm Beach, Florida; Jersey City, New Jersey; Turnersville, New Jersey; Brooklyn, New York; and Queens, New York. Continuing through mid-September, there will be a total of 357 conventions in 90 cities in the continental United States.
